Who she is

Liv is 26 and from the UK. Her first trip with us was Sri Lanka, with China booked for October and Brazil to follow in February 2027.

Going in

When she booked Sri Lanka, life had come apart in two directions at once. She had just moved back in with her mum after a breakup with a boyfriend she had shared a flat with, and had also been through a best friend breakup after ten years of living in each other’s pockets. She was feeling lost, unaccomplished and alone, and the thought of travelling solo was terrifying, especially joining a group where she was sure no one would like her or she would be too shy to speak.

She forced herself out of her comfort zone and booked anyway, desperate to get out of the rut she was in. It turned out to be the best decision she had made, and the start of a complete turnaround in how she saw her life.

The trip

The group made it easy. The vibe was laid back but inclusive, and one of the women happened to be on her flights, so she had a friendly face from the airport onwards. A hot air balloon, a cooking class, hiking and scrambling up Lion’s Rock all became favourite memories. She left Sri Lanka with two very good friends she still sees.

What changed

She has since booked China and Rio with us, with Vietnam and Japan on the horizon.
